We are now accepting entries for the 2010 Reader's Choice Writer’s Contest. If your organization is interested in sponsoring this event, please contact us.  With your sponsorship, starting with our 2010 Writer’s Contest, Voice Magazine would like to make this annual event with a dinner and a formal presentation of the awards to each recipient, and donate a portion of the proceeds to a non-profit organization. 

Rules for Reader’s Choice Annual Writer’s Contest:
All entrants must be 18 years of age or older.

Contest begins August 2009, with the winners announced in July 2010 issue.

Entries may be resubmitted from the previous contest if it was not selected as a winning or honorable mention entry in the previous contest.

Each month submissions are posted on the web site and readers vote for their favorite story in each category. PLEASE - One vote per reader and only one vote will be counted per reader per category per month.

Manuscripts are accepted in Microsoft Word ONLY. Do not send any the original of the manuscript. Entries will not be returned. The copyright must be the property of the entrant and permission is given to Voice – magazine for women (Jan-Carol Publishing, Inc) for unlimited printing in the magazine or ezine format.

One submission per month per category per entrant. All submissions are reviewed by Voice-magazine for women for acceptance for the readers’ viewing and acceptance is based upon subject matter, story of interest, clarity, etc. Any entry that does not follow the contest rules will not be considered for judging.

Each entry must include the following header information: clearly marked title, category, number of lines/words, name, mailing address, day & evening telephone numbers, and e-mail address of the entrant.

No submission fee –

There are three categories:
Poetry: No entry to exceed approximately 100 lines.
Non- Fiction - No entry to exceed approximately 2500 words.
Fiction/Short Story - No entry to exceed approximately 2500 words.

The readers’ vote selection is viewed as the final decision on accepted material.
There will be 1st prize and honorable mention for the 2nd and 3rd place winners in each of the categories.
